Senior Infants Latest News
Senior infants have been so busy building bridges, buildings and cars. We have been busy planning on the big whiteboard too!
Senior Infants have had a very busy start to this year. In Aistear, Literacy, Numeracy and SESE we have been thinking about fairy stories, traditional stories and Irish myths and legends too. In Science, we looked at materials and explored which were the best materials to build houses with. We read “The 3 Little Pigs” and we decided that buildings made of brick were the best. The Big Bad Wolf couldn’t blow them over, no matter how hard he tried!! In Geography lessons, we explored maps and drew fabulous maps showing the journey of the 3 Little Pigs as they made their houses.
We read “Fionn and the Salmon of Knowledge” in History and created beautiful leaping salmon.
We also created castles in Junk Art and planted magic beans after we read “Jack and the Beanstalk”. We wrote amazing stories too about what we would see if we climbed to the top of the beanstalk.
We are also having great fun in GAA lessons with Seamus. We love heading out to our lessons on a Thursday morning!
